Laboratory Aids, Porcelain Spot, Desiccator and Streak Plates
Overview
These economical spot, desiccator plates and streak plates are manufactured of porcelain for thermal shock resistance and resistant to acids and alkalies, except for hydrofluoric acid. Dessicator plates are available with large and small (5 mm diameter) holes, as well as with three stabilizing 16 mm legs and without. Spot plates are available from 3 to 30 wells. Features of Porcelain Spot, Desiccator and Streak Plates:
Thermal shock resistance, with an average coefficient of expansion from 20° C to 200° C is 3.56 x 10-5, gradually increasing to 4.69 x 10-5 at 1050°C.
No softening of glaze occurs up to 1000°C
Resistance to acids and alkalies is excellent, except for hydrofluoric acid.
