Overview
GVS PVDF-Plus™ Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) transfer membranes are naturally hydrophobic, unsupported membranes with exceptional strength and chemical compatibility. A high binding capacity and low backgrounds make them ideal for use in protein binding applications such as Western blots, solid phase assays and immunoblotting procedures.
Superior strength means they can be used with automated equipment without breaking or tearing. Low extractables insure tests will be clean and results consistent. Exceptional sensitivity detects low level components. Hyrdophobic nature for high protein binding, binds to a wide range of fragment sizes.
Resistant to most commonly used chemicals and compatible with chemically aggressive solvents. Important when used with common stains such as Amido Black, Collodial Gold, Coomassie Blue, India Ink and Ponceau-S. PVDF will not degrade or shrink when a high concentration of methanol is used for destaining.
Membranes are available in rolls up to 12 inches (30cm), as well as sheets, cut disk, and pleat packs that can be customized to meet application and size requirements.
