Overview
The new MultiGene™ OptiMax Gradient PCR Thermal Cycler brings new speed and advanced features to the Thermal Cycler line, providing premium performance at an affordable price.
The MultiGene™ OptiMax employs a new protocol optimization process that improves on older gradient features.
The MultiGene™ OptiMax has a heating rate of 4 °C /sec and a cooling rate of 3 °C/sec. Overshooting and undershooting have been minimized so that reactions only see the temperatures they are supposed to see. This also leads to faster runs.

FlexTemp™ Technology
The MultiGene™ OptiMax utilizes FlexTemp™ technology that effectively separates a 96 well plate into six 4 × 4 well temperature regions that allow you to pick the temperatures you want to test against.
These regions are easily identified by the blue and black squares visible on the microplate platen.
Instead of having the thermal cycler choose temperatures for you, you can choose any temperatures you want within a 24°C range.
Intuitive User Interface
The MultiGene™ OptiMax utilizes an intuitive user interface that is friendly to the laboratory environment and consistent with the highly rated interface in earlier models.
It can be used with lab gloves even if wet.
The ramping speed has been improved and run times shortened by eliminating overshooting and undershooting.
Fully Adjustable Heated Lid
The MultiGene™ OptiMax’s heated lid is fully adjustable to provide optimum pressure for use with a broad range of tubes and microplates. For optimum performance, the lid can also be programmed to hold different temperatures from 60 to 65 °C and from 100 to 115 °C. The OptiMax lid prevents condensation and reduces the risk of coming into contact with a hot surface by and sliding away and back from the user to provide full access to samples.
PC Viewer Option
By downloading software from the manufacturer’s website and attaching a USB cable to a Windows PC it is possible to view the temperature profiles in real time, as they are occurring, to monitor a system
