Overview
The Bright OTF5000 floor standing biological cryostat is a medical device used to slice tissue and other samples very finely for analysis. The instrument is essentially a stationary freezer (the cryostat) capable of reaching temperatures within the range of −20 to −45 °C, with a rotary microtome incorporated into it that cuts histological and other samples extremely finely.
The microtome operates by use of an external wheel or lever which turns the blade and slices the sample. The Bright OTF5000 is suitable for an endless range of applications and is capable of cutting a wide diversity of specimens from undecalcified bone to brain, resins, plastics and plant tissue as well as more usual soft tissues.
The Bright OTF5000 cryostat range is suitable for both research and clinical operation and can be used with either solid knives or disposable blades in the microtome. The OTF5000 range is available in three standard models, with a long list of options and accessories to accommodate every sample slicing need in a laboratory.
All non-urgent functions are on a side panel, away from the essential systems..
Allowing full anti-roll plate adjustment for perfect results coupled with long lasting temperature stability, the OTF5000 is packed with features. Inquire about low cabinet height option, glove port, thin section conversions, large area sectioning and uv decontamination kits. A variety of holders, knives, honing supplies and lubricants are available.
All OTF5000 Cryostats come with Easi-set anti-roll plates (37mm, 50mm and 75mm), circular object holders (2 × 22mm, 1 × 37mm), 200mL bottle of low temperature oil, set of Allen keys, 113mL bottle of Cro-M-Bed, debris brush and debris tray.
The Bright 2212 Starlet compact bench top portable cryostat with radial, flat cutting rotary microtome is also available from Rose Scientific for use in laboratories where space is at a premium.

All models are supplied with three anti-roll plates, two circular object holders, bottle of low temperature oil, Allen keys, bottle of Cro-M-Bed, debris brush and debris tray
