Oxygen Sensors, Hamilton VisiFerm DO and VisiFerm DO B Optical
Overview
The VisiFerm is the first optical sensor ever for the measurement of dissolved oxygen that has significant advantages compared to classical Clark cells because there is no electrolyte needed and the luminophore is embedded in a robust sensor cap. Typical applications are biotechnology, water treatment and monitoring as well as in breweries, wineries and soft drink processing. Available with the innovative Arc technology.
The VisiFerm DO B is designed for use in breweries, with an active brewery mode and Cleaning in Place (CIB) technology. The VisiFerm DO B brewery and CIP modes allow accurate measurements during fermentation, filtration and filling when calibration after each CIP is difficult.
The Beverly Portable DO instrument uses the VisiFerm DO B optical sensor with built in intelligence and provides excellent reliability for in line and laboratory use in small and midsize breweries. It satisfies IP67 watertight standards, has the stamina for 50 hours of continuous operation, and can be calibrated without removing the sensor.
VisiFerm™ DO sensors provide electrical interfaces: ECS (classical electrochemical sensor), standard analog (4–20 mA) and digital RS485 (Modbus RTU). These are built into each sensor and are
supported directly from the sensor head. The analog 4–20 mA and digital RS485 interfaces do not require any additional equipment such as an amplifier or transmitter. The VisiFerm™ DO sensor also contains a temperature sensor (NTC 22 kΩ) for the compensation of temperature of the oxygen signal in ECS mode
(simulation of a classical amperometric oxygen sensor by means of VisiFerm™ DO).
