Minifors are frequently used as a starting point for research and education using fermenters, and also serve as a cost-effective way to get large numbers of bioreactors for industrial use.
The use of heating blocks (no jackets), removable, autoclavable pump heads and integral frames for carrying the vessel and accessories to and from an autoclave make a Minifors easier to use than typical bench top bioreactors.
Available in both bacterial and cell culture versions, Minifors is supplied as a package with everything necessary to take the next step in capacity and control from shake flasks or spinners. For example, the basic bacterial Minifors gives you pH control, feeding, sampling and software for data-logging straight out of the box.
The direct digital control (DDC) system used in the Minifors is a reliable micro-processor based control system used in INFORS HT shakers and bioreactors. The splash proof operating panel is integrated into the base unit and allows easy setting of key parameter values such as set points, along with calibration and various control options. Multiple LED’s and icons display information.
The vessels consist of borosilicate glass covered by a stainless steel top plate with an optimal arrangement of port fittings and inlets. An intermediate aspect ratio of 2.5:1 is used to allow use for both bacterial and cell culture applications. Vessels, bottles and pump heads are all supported in a special holder for easy handling when autoclaving. All vessels are round bottomed.
